Getting to Vienna

By airplane

Vienna’s central position in Europe makes it a hub offering optimal transportation connections to the whole world. 60 airlines connect Vienna Airport with 166 destinations in 66 countries worldwide.

Vienna Airport is well connected to the public transportation network and can be reached quickly, comfortably and cheaply by train or bus. Find more information here.

By train

Vienna’s train stations are centrally located and have good connections to the public transport network. The products of ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) and Westbahn (private train company) are aimed at individual travel needs with numerous offers.

The international Eurolines long-distance bus routes connect all of Europe to Vienna. The long-distance bus company Flixbus offers bus routes throughout Europe.

By car

If you travel by car make sure you have a vignette to use Austrias motorways. You can purchase a digital vignette before your trip or buy a vignette sticker.

Almost the entire city of Vienna is a short-stay parking zone. Parking is subject to a charge from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 10 pm (excluding public holidays), the maximum parking duration is two hours. Alternatively, you can park your car for longer periods at affordable rates in one of Vienna’s Park & Ride garages.

Visa information

Citizens of EU member states, European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland do not need a visa for entering the Republic of Austria.

Nationals of other countries might require a visa in order to enter the Schengen Area or the Austrian territory. Please check the information on whether you require a visa or not on the website of the Federal Ministry of the Interior.

Delegates are responsible for ensuring appropriate visas are obtained for attending the conference. If you need an invitation letter to apply for a Visa to enter Austria, please email us via caa2026@caaconference.org. Kindly note that invitation letters are only sent to registered and paid delegates.
